Chattanooga Artist, Mia Bergeron

I shot this video with Mia Bergeron (professional oil painter) on a Sony HDR-FX1. Here, Mia talks to Portraits Inc about moving to Chattanooga as an oil painter and receiving a MakeWork arts grant from CreateHere.org Her work can be seen at miabergeron.com

The Steps web series

This is a web series I am shooting (directed by Dylan Kussman). We started shooting the pilot for this series in the fall of 2008. In the spring of 2009 I received a MakeWork grant from CreateHere to finish season 1 of The Steps web series (www.followthesteps.net). I have learned an anormous amount about filmmaking during this process, as this was my first real show. Jeeez. Everything from lighting a shot on location to editing HD video and compressing it in a way that looks good on the web. I’ve also learned a ton about marketing through social media which has taken quite a tole on my creative life so I am trying to back off of that now. My favorite part of the process is the cinematography, though. There’s nothing like getting that shot that captures an actor’s performance with just the right lighting and movement.

You can watch episodes of The Steps at http://followthesteps.net

Carolina Wren

I spotted this Carolina Wren while taking a walk at Point Park on Lookout Mountain in March of 2010. The footage is shaky but i just love the way you can see her sing. *If you listen closely you can hear the other bird respond between calls.
