Headshot Preparation and Requirements

Your Headshot = your most important marketing tool as an actor

Here are a few important questions that you should consider... seriously.

Does your headshot match your current look?
Does it market what you have to sell in terms of your character range, age range and TYPE?
Does your headshot look natural or spontaneous and genuine?
Did you get high quality 8.5x11 (or 8x10) prints made of your headshots?
Does your current headshot give you a dose of confidence when walking into an audition?
Some casting directors only spend an average of five seconds looking at a headshot; you need to have a headshot that makes them stop to take a closer look! Hanging onto an old headshot because you spent some money or it is "good enough for now" won't do you any favors. That said, reasons for getting new headshots may include, new haircut, new hair color or look, loss of weight … etc. You get the point. On to the details!
